Dear Members and Friends of United,

We are quickly approaching 2008 and our Stewardship Campaign is still running strong.  We hope our previous mailings have been insightful and provided you with a clear financial picture for the church.

We want to remind you about all the wonderful outreach our church does on a weekly, monthly and annual basis.  We are an important part of this community, and it is because of members and friends and their continued generosity that we can remain open at least 6 days a week throughout the year.  Your pledges support all the ministries mentioned below and make possible our life-giving worship services each Sunday.  As you contemplate your charitable contributions during the year, we hope you will remember to include United Congregational Church.  Our programs need your support.

  • Feel the Warmth - feeding people every Thursday all year long
  • Thanksgiving Feast - almost 500 meals this year!
  • Prospect House – preparing and serving dinners for the homeless
  • Rummage Sales - wow! - what an amazing feeling watching the smiles on the neighborhood people's faces when they leave with their treasures
  • Covenant to Care - supplying social workers with necessary items for foster care children
  • Schizophrenics Anonymous - providing our building for weekly meetings
  • Alcoholics Anonymous- providing our building for weekly meetings
  • Emotions Anonymous- providing our building for weekly meetings
  • Music concerts - fantastic cultural opportunities for all ages
  • Bible Study- exploring our sacred texts
  • Norma Phriem Children’s Choir - in existence because of our wonderful facility, history and membership dedication
  • Christian Education/Sunday School- lectionary based religious education
  • Vacation Bible School- currently in the works
  • Youth Group- meaningful activities for youth in grades 6-12
  • Family Retreats- intergenerational opportunities for exploring our relationship with God and each other
  • Life-giving worship- come see for yourself on Sunday mornings!
  • Blue Jean Service- come as you are, family oriented, experiential worship services
  • Stephen Ministry- confidential one-on-one support through difficult times

Without your pledge we would not be able to do all of these things. No matter what the donation amount, it all counts.  Please help us to the finish line. Make your pledge count!

For those of you who live in the area, please do come to Church on Sunday mornings. If you are looking for a word of hope or an encouraging Spirit, we trust you will find it in our time of worship and the fellowship that follows.  Your presence is an important part of our life as a community of faith.
